Parade Tribute

A Celebration of Life

The tradition of the New Orleans Second Line originated as a celebration of life at a Jazz Funeral and the Jazz Crawl for Charity was originally established as a tribute to a dearly missed friend that loved introducing people to New Orleans culture. Our event has evolved into an opportunity for anyone to honor the name and memory of their loved ones through the uplifting magic of the Second Line celebration and a donation to local music students.

  1. Name Commemoration: A photo marked in memoriam and archived online.
  2. Flower Pin: Silk carnation worn at the Jazz Crawl to symbolize the tribute.
  3. Dirge: Gospel hymn sung at Marion Square to recognize the tributes.

In order for us to commemorate your ‘Parade Tribute’, you will need to provide the following information for the loved one you are honoring:

  1. Name: First Name, Last Name, and Middle Initial
  2. Lifespan: Year – Year
  3. Photo: A photo that shows your loved one smiling or laughing with family.
