The Second Line Jazz Crawl for Charity celebrates the artistic culture and festive traditions of New Orleans as a tribute to loved ones not with us anymore. The event kicks off by randomly crowning the year’s Royal Court of the Krewe. The celebration then continues from spot to spot with a traditional New Orleans Second Line that parades up to the next local jazz club, dancing and waving parasols behind a live brass band.
Each installment of the event helps preserve the iconic tradition of the New Orleans second line by introducing the celebration to people that are unfamiliar with it. It inspires young students and attendees to explore the historical impact that New Orleans culture has had on our country’s music. Our memorial donations aid the talents of exceptional music students in the name of loved ones, and the festivities support and promote local businesses and the talents of local musicians and artists.
